HRE 2020 presents at Human Rights Council

15 September 2016

The Human Rights Council organised a "High Level Panel Discussion on the Implementation of the UN Declaration Human Rights Education and Training" in Geneva on 14 September 2016. On behalf of HRE 2020, Sneh Aurora delivered a statement.

The statement highlighted the need to focus on national implementation and follow-up of human rights education and training initiatives, and the role of states, UN mechanisms and civil society. HRE 2020 continues to stress that implementation and follow-up can be effectively achieved through partnership and cooperation. States should engage with civil society organisations (including NGOs, national human rights institutions, trade unions, educational institutions, and media) in the planning, implementation and monitoring of national strategies and programmes on human rights education and training.
